Dr. Christopher Koebbe was born in Delaware, Ohio, and graduated with honors from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He completed the Air Force ROTC program as a distinguished graduate and earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Koebbe went on to complete his neurosurgical residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by a postgraduate fellowship in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. During his training, he performed over 500 vascular neurosurgical procedures under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Rosenwasser.
From 2007 to 2015, Dr. Koebbe served as an active-duty neurosurgeon in the United States Air Force in San Antonio, Texas, concluding his service as Chief of Neurosurgery at the San Antonio Military Medical Center—the Department of Defense’s only Level-1 civilian trauma center and largest global referral center for military members. He also deployed to Bagram Airbase, Afghanistan, as Chief of Neurosurgery at the theater hospital in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Concurrently, he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he played a key role in developing comprehensive stroke and aneurysm care for the South Texas region.
Dr. Koebbe is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He specializes in both cranial and minimally invasive vascular and spinal neurosurgery, emphasizing the comprehensive care of brain aneurysms, stroke, tumors, spinal disorders, and chronic pain. His practice focuses on minimally invasive brain and spinal motion -preserving procedures utilizing the latest effective technologies and approaches. He is also among the leading surgeons in Florida performing cervical disc replacement and one of the few offering hybrid anterior cervical surgeries.
